I joined the Inspired Homes team on February 5th, 2019. If you would have told me 6 months prior to that date that I would be working for this company, I would have laughed and said, "no way!". You see, 6 months prior I was on track to becoming an American Sign Language interpreter. Senior year had just begun, and I was so excited to be starting a career that I loved in 6 months (the program I was in had a mandatory internship which started the beginning of February to get interpreting experience before you graduate). But little did I know that God was going to be changing that career! In October 2018, I had a real heart-to-heart with two of my professors about my interpreting. I was not practicum ready (that's what we called the internship). I came to the realization that interpreting, as much as I wanted it to be, wasn't what God had in mind for me. So, October of senior year, I let go of interpreting and I quit. I finished out the semester and was left with a general studies degree, a lot of memories, and no direction for my next steps. But God has a funny way of lining things up perfectly. I first heard about Inspired Homes from Dale (now a co-worker!). When my fiancé, John, was young, Dale and his wife were his neighbors. So, in December, they asked me and John to dog sit for them over Christmas so they could go visit out of town family. We agreed and after they came back, I went to pick up the check from his wife. While we were talking, I mentioned that I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. I was applying to jobs everyday but never heard anything back from anyone. That's when Dale came home. He told me about a job opening for the marketing coordinator for this real estate company he worked for, which turned out to be Inspired Homes! I sent Kim my resume and cover letter and the rest is history! I love my job and looking back, I couldn't imagine becoming an interpreter! God knows what He's doing even when we don't! Give me a call to talk about your real estate needs or to just talk! Because at Inspired, we're all about YOU!
